Planting is the act of placing a finger on the string before you pluck it. This ensures accuracy and stops unwanted string vibrations. Place your finger on the third string. Rest your thumb ( p ) on the sixth string for stability. Pluck the third string using a free stroke.
Position your thumb behind the neck, roughly opposite your second finger. Keep it vertical or slightly angled; never let it wrap over the top of the fretboard. A good technique allows you to play with
